CORROSION PROTECTION OF LOW-CARBON STEEL IN ACIDIC MEDIA BY INHIBITORS OF SOLING SERIES

Results of investigation of the action of the series of inhibitors SolIng on the corrosion and electrochemical behavior of low-carbon steel St3 in acidic solutions by the weight-loss and polarization methods were presented. The influence of the inhibitors on the kinetics of the partial electrochemical reactions was determined.

ANODIC PROCESSES ON NiSi ELECTRODE IN SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTIONS

Anodic behavior of NiSi in (0.1 – 5.0) M NaOH in the range of potentials from corro-sion potential up to oxygen evolution potential was studied using methods of polarization and impedance measurements. It was concluded that in the alkaline electrolyte the selective disso-lution of silicon from the nickel silicide occurs. High chemical resistance of NiSi is due to the formation on its surface the passivating film, consisting mainly from poorly soluble products of anodic oxidation of nickel (it may also include a small content of silicon dioxide and sili-cates). The equivalent electrical circuit modeling the passive state of the silicide was pro-posed.

METHOD OF CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDIES OF GRAPHITE MATERIALS IN ALKALINE MEDIUM

The data on the electrochemical and electro catalytic properties of natural (NG), oxi-dized (OG), oxidize expanded (TWG) graphite and graphite oxide (GO) are presented. The evaluation of the electrocatalytic activity of graphites for the reduction of dioxygen in an al-kaline solution was carried out. The effective number of electrons for the given process was determined.

STUDY OF PHASE EQUILIBRIA IN SYSTEM HEXADECANE - DOCOSANE – CYCLODODECANE

Ternary n-hexadecane - n-docosane - cyclododecane system was studied with the method of a differential thermal analysis. The studied system concerns to systems of eutectic type. The eutectic composition melting at 7.3 °С and containing 65.0 wt. % n-hexadecane, 6.5 wt. % n-docosane and 28.5 wt. % cyclododecane was revealed.

INFLUENCE OF X-RADIATION ON STRUCTURE OF DNA OF YEASTS C. guilliermondii NP-4

Investigation of fluorescence, electrophoretic and melting parameters of DNA of yeasts Candida guilliermondii NP-4 after X-radiation and posradiation repair was carried out. It was shown that under influence of X-radiation the rate of saturation of DNA by ethidium bromide and the melting temperature of yeast DNA was increased, and the melting interval was de-creased. After repair period the rate of saturation of DNA by ethidium bromide and the melting temperature of yeast DNA were the highest, and the melting interval was the lowest, and in the electrophoregramms or repaired DNA there were additional low molecular fractions which tes-tify about possible changes in DNA primary and secondary structures under influence of X-radiation and postradiation repair.

DATABASE ON THERMODYNAMIC PARAMETERS OF REACTIONS OF COMPLEXATION AND SOLVATION IN MIXED SOLVENTS

Study of the effect of solvation on the thermodynamics and kinetics of complexation reactions in mixed solvents are performed in ISUCT and they are one of the main scientific directions of the university. For systematization of thermodynamic parameters of complexa-tion and solvations in the mixed solvents which were obtained by researchers of ISUCT the database «Thermodynamics of a complex formation and solvation in binary solvents» was developed using a MS Access Database Management System which provides fast search of necessary thermodynamic characteristics and also information on the used methods of re-searches.
