DEHYDROGENATION OF PROPANE WITH CO2 - EXPERIMENTAL AND THERMODYNAMIC CONSIDERATIONS



The dehydrogenation of propane with CO2 over Cr-containing SBA-1 mesoporous
material (Cr5/SBA-1) has been investigated.
The effect of temperature and feed gas composition on the conversion of propane and carbon  dioxide  s well as on the ratio of H2/CO has been carefully study. It has been found that over the Cr5/SBA-1 catalyst the ratio of H2/CO rises with
temperature and drops with the increase of CO2/C3H8 ratio in the feed gas. The
catalytic results are in agreement with the thermodynamic calculations that
shows similar trend of the H2/CO ratio change for two-step pathway of propane
dehydrogenation with CO2.
