CORROSION PROTECTION OF LOW-CARBON STEEL IN ACIDIC MEDIA BY INHIBITORS OF SOLING SERIES

Results of investigation of the action of the series of inhibitors SolIng on the corrosion and electrochemical behavior of low-carbon steel St3 in acidic solutions by the weight-loss and polarization methods were presented. The influence of the inhibitors on the kinetics of the partial electrochemical reactions was determined.

ANODIC PROCESSES ON NiSi ELECTRODE IN SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTIONS

Anodic behavior of NiSi in (0.1 – 5.0) M NaOH in the range of potentials from corro-sion potential up to oxygen evolution potential was studied using methods of polarization and impedance measurements. It was concluded that in the alkaline electrolyte the selective disso-lution of silicon from the nickel silicide occurs. High chemical resistance of NiSi is due to the formation on its surface the passivating film, consisting mainly from poorly soluble products of anodic oxidation of nickel (it may also include a small content of silicon dioxide and sili-cates). The equivalent electrical circuit modeling the passive state of the silicide was pro-posed.

ANODIC OXYGEN EVOLUTION ON IRON, COBALT AND NICKEL SILICIDES IN ALKALINE ELECTROLYTE

The kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction on iron, cobalt and nickel monosilicides in (0.1 – 5.0) M NaOH was studied using methods of polarization and impedance measurements. The values of deriva-tives dE/dlgi, dlgi/dpH, dE/dpH were determined. The oxygen evolution on FeSi, CoSi and NiSi elec-trodes in alkaline solution was established to have regularities which are characteristic to Fe, Co and Ni electrodes, respectively.
