DETONATION NANODIAMOND AS PROSPECTIVE COMPONENT OF COMPOSITE SOLID PROPELLANTS

In this articlethe the possibility of application of detonation nanodiamond (DND) as a prospective component of composite solid propellants (CSP) and additive approach to opti-mization of fuel compositions based on binary fuel compositions is considered. The introduc-tion to the fuel composition of DND allows creating a metal-free CSP with increased energy-to-mass characteristics. Usage of the additive approach for calculations when creating new prospective compositions of CSP allows reducing significantly the volume of work to optimize the fuel compositions and to simplify the process of thermodynamic engineering.

PROPERTIES AND PHASE COMPOSITION OF DETONATION NANODIAMONDS SURFACE

The characteristics, properties and phase composition of surface of nano- and micro-diamond crystals obtained by detonation synthesis were researched. In blend composition of nano diamonds the carbine presence was revealed. On the surface of the nano diamond mi-crocrystals and after chemical treatment the presence of sp2 and sp3 carbon phases with the predominant content of sp3crystal phase was revealed. Together with that the presence on the surface of the sp3 amorpohous phase was established for nano diamonds.
